It was established in 2012, the founder of HOPMA had a vision to teach and deliver music to every student with great zeal and enthusiasm. HOPMA started its journey with the first music school near VGP, Chennai with a single Electronic keyboard with two students. But now HOPMA is working with three branches and two times awarded as the
Best Music School in Chennai.
History of House of Piano Music Academy
Since 2012 – Thiruvanmiyur Branch
HOPMA started its journey unofficially in the year 2008, with the first music school near VGP, Chennai, featuring a single electronic keyboard and two students. Mr. James Sundarapandian, the Founder & Director of House of Piano Music Academy, had a great vision for spreading music to the younger generation.
Due to financial issues, HOPMA couldn’t set up a proper academy, and Mr. James was conducting home tuition and online classes.
In the year of 2012, HOPMA started its first branch at Thiruvanmiyur with a beautiful acoustic piano, making it a great choice for the students to learn on a real acoustic piano. Mr. James unique teaching techniques and personal attention raised the strength up to 50 students in a short span of time.
2014 – Perungudi Branch
In 2014, HOPMA Extended and spread its music journey by opening a New Branch in Old Mahabhalipuram Road, Perungudi. Mr. James also got a new role in the German International School as a Music Teacher. HOPMA deployed additional faculties to manage and run both the branches.
In the Year 2015, HOPMA Student Strength increased to 200+ Students making it one of the premium music school in Chennai. HOPMA also successfully registered with Trinity Music College London and completed 100+ Students appearing for the Most Privileged music exam conducted by Trinity College London.
2016 – Expanding Thiruvanmiyur Branch
In the year of 2016, the growth of House of Piano Music Academy’s thiruvanmiyur branch was tremendous and so it had to expanded its thiruvanmiyur branch to a New Bigger Location.
We opened the New Branch in a popular and commercial place in Thiruvanmiyur with New Acoustic Piano.
2017 – New Bigger Space @ Perungudi, OMR
In the year 2017, HOPMA Strength was raised to 400+ Students and it made us to look for a better place for our Perungudi branch.
2018 – Opened Music Instrumental Shop
House of Piano Music Academy become Dealer of selling Yamaha Products in 2018. It was a great journey since 2018 to be partner with Yamaha Music India.
2019, Feb – Opened Velachery Branch
In 2019, House of Piano Music Academy opened its New Branch in the heart of the city – Velachery making its 3rd branch in the Chennai City.
Velachery Branch is the first ever Franchise Branch of House of Piano Music Academy. HOPMA – Velachery currently runs with 100+ Students and it has a beautiful Acoustic Piano, Drums and other various musical instruments.
2019, December – Grand Concert
In 2019, House of Piano Music Academy conducts its 2nd concert and this year it was grand out of all. 1500+ People attended the concert and over 160+ Students participated and gave their support.
2020 – 2022 – Covid Period
During Covid Period, House of piano become completely online and soon resumed all its branch in the year 2022.
2023 – Grand Concert
In 2023, House of Piano Music Academy conducts its 3rd concert. Due to Covid restrictions it was a difficult year for us to conduct a successful concert. Despite of challenges we made a great successful concert in this year and successfully completed the 2023 year.
